Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson today voted in favor of a bill to move forward with completion of the Keystone XL Pipeline. The measure, H.R. 3, the Northern Route Approval Act, was approved with bipartisan support, 24-17, by the House Natural Resources Committee. Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson today blasted a Forest Service budget proposal that cut funding for active forest management in favor of funding the fire budget and new land acquisition. U.S. Forest Service Chief Tom Tidwell testified on the budget in front of the House Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee, which Simpson chairs.
