The House Natural Resources Committee today passed a trio of energy bills sponsored by Colorado Republicans to help increase domestic energy production. All three bills passed with bipartisan support. The bills will expand onshore energy production, lower gasoline prices and create new American jobs.  The bills would reduce burdensome government hurdles and streamline duplicative and unnecessary bureaucratic obstacles to onshore American energy production while encouraging job creation and economic growth.

“Energy production on federal lands is one of our best opportunities for job creation and energy security, but time and again it's blocked and delayed by Obama Administration policies.  These bills contribute to a common sense all-of-the-above American energy plan that streamlines permitting, reduces timelines and promotes job creation and American energy production,”said Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (WA-04).  “These bills are yet another step forward for House Republicans’ American Energy Initiative thatis an ongoing effort to ease rising gasoline prices, grow our economy and put Americans back to work using American energy resources.”

Combined, these three bills would remove government hurdles and regulations that block and delay development of our onshore renewable, oil, natural gas resources.

H.R. 4383, (Rep. Lamborn) Streamlining Permitting of American Energy Act.  This bill reforms the process for energy permitting, once a lease is in hand, to encourage the timely development of our federal onshore oil, natural gas, and renewable resources (Passed, 25-15)

H.R. 4381, (Rep. Tipton) Planning for American Energy Act.  This bill establishes common sense steps to create an all-of-the-above American energy plan for using federal lands to meet our Nation’s energy needs. (Passed 24-14)

H.R. 4382, (Rep. Coffman) Providing Leasing Certainty for American Energy Act.  This bill makes reforms to the leasing process for onshore oil and natural gas projects on federal land in order to eliminate unnecessary government delays and hurdles. (Passed 24-17)
