Congressman Gosar to Host Water and Power Subcommittee Field Hearing on Impacts of Federal Actions on Water and Power Rates

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Monday, June 4th, 2012 Congressman Gosar, a member of the House Subcommittee on Water and Power, will join subcommittee Chairman Tom McClintock for an oversight field hearingin Phoenix, Arizona. The hearing is entitled, “Evaporating Prosperity: How Federal Actions Are Driving Up Water and Power Costs, Threatening Jobs and Leaving Arizonans High and Dry.”
On Monday, June 4th, 2012 Congressman Gosar, a member of the House Subcommittee on Water and Power, will join subcommittee Chairman Tom McClintock for an oversight field hearingin Phoenix, Arizona. The hearing is entitled, “Evaporating Prosperity: How Federal Actions Are Driving Up Water and Power Costs, Threatening Jobs and Leaving Arizonans High and Dry.” Representative Gosar was the driving force in penning a letterdetailing the lack of forest management and pending federal regulation, which could close the Navajo Generation Station, as leading examples of federal roadblocks to water security and an affordable power supply in Arizona. The letter, signed by a majority of Arizona’s Congressional Delegation, requested that this field hearing be held to address the impact of federal actions on water and power rates.
