Rep. Scott Tipton issued this statement following passage of the FY 2013 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations bill (407-12), which contains language requested by Tipton to prohibit the use of funds for any action related to the expansion of Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site, Colorado. View the bill here.

“Congress did the right thing in extending the funding ban on expansion of Pinon Canyon, and I am pleased that we are able to provide some added certainty for the people of this region. Having said that, the ultimate goal remains to implement a solution that protects private property rights and gives ranchers, farmers and the people of these communities the long-term certainty needed to attract future businesses, strengthen and preserve agriculture production, and continue to preserve the history of past generations.”
