Congressman Lee Terry (R-NE) today released the following statement after the TransCanada Corporation submitted a Supplemental Environmental Report (SER) to the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) for the preferred alternative route for theKeystone XL Pipeline in Nebraska. “This is great news for supporters of the Keystone pipeline and domestic energy independence. After sifting through thousands of comments by concerned Nebraskans and speaking directly with landowners along the proposed pipeline, TransCanada presented a conscientious and workable alternative route that supports the safe construction and operation of the pipeline. “We are now one step closer to making America less dependent on foreign oil and lowering prices at the pump while putting more people back to work and boosting our local economy. “I am pleased that the private sector and the state government have been able to work together to listen to the concerns of citizens and submit a proposal that reflects and addresses those concerns.” |
