Chairman Gosar Announces New Executive Director

Today, Chairman Paul Gosar announced that Timothy Charters will serve as the new Executive Director of the Congressional Western Caucus.

"I'm excited to welcome Tim Charters to our team as the new Executive Director of the Western Caucus.  Tim is ready to lead the Caucus into the future. Tim's background includes years of service on agriculture, forestry, mining and water issues important to our rural communities. Tim has extensive Hill experience and has worked with many members," said Western Caucus Chairman Paul Gosar (AZ-04). "I look forward to working with Tim as we maintain the organization as the most effective caucus in DC and as we continue to grow the influence of the Western Caucus."

“I am honored for the chance to return to the Hill and work for the bipartisan Western Caucus. The objectives of the Western Caucus will bring jobs, economic opportunity and security to our nation, but we have our work cutout to deliver results for America," said Tim Charters. "I know I will be able to build new bridges and promote sound American policy, and I thank Chairman Gosar for this opportunity to lead such a critical organization.”

"I am very pleased to hear that the Congressional Western Caucus has hired Tim Charters as Executive Director," said Vice-Chairman for Indian Affairs and Oceans Don Young (AK-At Large). "Tim previously served as Staff Director of the House Natural Resources Committee Energy and Mineral Resources Subcommittee, and throughout his service I was consistently impressed by his work ethic, knowledge, and expertise. The work of the Western Caucus is crucially important to my state and to states threatened by federal overreach. I am confident that Tim is a great fit for Executive Director and will help the Caucus continue to serve as a voice for communities across the West."

"We welcome Tim as the new executive director of the Western Caucus.  He has a wealth of experience in natural resources policy – focusing on energy and the environment," said Congressman Garret Graves (LA-06). "His work experience in oceans and energy will be helpful in addressing many of the challenges and opportunities facing our nation and the caucus.  We look forward to working with him in continuing efforts toward sustainable energy dominance."

"Tim Charters is an excellent choice to serve as the Executive Director of the Western Caucus," said Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05). "I have had the honor of working closely with Tim as a senior staff member of the House Committee on Natural Resources and as an industry representative. He brings a vast array of personal experience and knowledge to the position. Tim deeply understands the importance of eliminating burdensome federal regulations, preserving private propriety rights, and the development and utilization of our natural and mineral resources. I am confident he will be a great addition to the leadership team at the Western Caucus."
