Newhouse: President Biden, where are the green jobs?

64 days after Keystone XL Pipeline Executive Order, press must demand answers

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chairman Dan Newhouse (R-WA) released the following statement ahead of President Biden’s first official press conference:

“It has been 64 days since President Biden signed his executive order canceling the Keystone XL Pipeline, devastating the livelihoods of thousands of hard-working Americans in the middle of a pandemic that has already wreaked havoc on rural communities across the country,” said Chairman Newhouse. “Today, union workers are still wondering: Where are the green jobs President Biden promised? The press must demand answers on this commitment made by the President at today’s press conference.”

In February, Chairman Newhouse joined Reps. Dusty Johnson (R-SD) and Kelly Armstrong (R-ND) in Philip, SD, to hear directly from local small business owners and community members impacted by President Biden’s unilateral executive order. Click here to read more.
