Alaska's Moment to Power the U.S. Has Arrived

Under the Biden Administration, a total of 70 executive orders were issued specifically targeting Alaska and our right to produce - locking away our resources, delaying progress, and stifling our potential for growth.

Thankfully, that is all changing.

Thanks to bold leadership from President Donald J. Trump and Secretary Doug Burgum, the Department of the Interior has taken decisive action to unlock Alaska’s vast energy wealth. This is a long-overdue course correction that puts Alaska, and America, back on the path to energy independence and economic prosperity.

The Department of Interior’s plan reopens up to 82% of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska (NPR-A), unlocking millions of acres for responsible oil and gas development. It also reinstates the leasing program for the 1.56-million-acre Coastal Plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), honoring the will of Congress under the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and restoring Alaska’s rightful place in the nation’s energy future.

Equally important, the Department is removing outdated restrictions along the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and Dalton Highway corridors - paving the way for critical infrastructure like the Ambler Access Road and Alaska LNG Pipeline projects. These initiatives will create jobs, drive economic growth, and ensure long-term energy security for our state and nation.

These developments are what Alaska’s workers, families, and communities have been seeking for decades. They mean good-paying jobs, lower energy costs, and renewed hope in rural and urban Alaska alike.

This moment is a game-changer for Alaska and for all Americans who want reliable, affordable energy produced right here at home. I applaud the Trump administration for recognizing Alaska’s unique role in America’s energy landscape and taking real steps to unleash our potential.

I’m committed to partnering with state, federal, and industry leaders to ensure these projects move forward efficiently and responsibly. Alaska is ready to lead. And with this new direction, we finally have the green light to do just that.

The road to American prosperity begins in Alaska, and when Alaska is open for business - America prospers.
