Today, Congressional Western Caucus Chairman Doug LaMalfa (CA-01) reacted to the U.S. Department of Energy’s release off its Response to Comments on the 2024 Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Export Study.
 
“The Department of Energy’s updated LNG Export Study proves what Republicans have been saying all along,” said Chairman LaMalfa. “America produces natural gas better and cleaner than anywhere else in the world. American LNG will power our allies in Europe and decrease reliance on foreign adversarial sources. Meanwhile, rural economies will reap rewards from the boom in sales abroad, without restricting any supply for plentiful energy here in the United States. I would like to thank Secretary Wright and the Trump Administration for this critical move to unleash American energy dominance.”

The Biden Administration released a biased LNG Export Study in December 2024 with the goal of restricting American natural gas production. Today’s announcement from the U.S. Department of Energy establishes “support [for] the proposition that exports of LNG from the United States are in the best interest of the American public.”
