President Trump’s “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” Invests in Rural America

Last November, Rural America voted in landslide numbers for President Trump and elected Republican majorities to Congress. My home county – Sioux County, Iowa – delivered President Trump his largest margin of victory in the state of Iowa with 85% of voters supporting his candidacy. This huge win in rural Iowa and in rural communities nationwide comes as no surprise to those of us who live in small towns. We elected President Trump because he strongly supports our farmers, stands with our families, and cares about America’s heartland.

Now, after 77 million Americans sent him back to the White House, President Trump has kept his promises to Rural America with his “One, Big, Beautiful Bill.”

This historic legislation delivers big tax cuts for families, ends taxes on tips for workers, eliminates taxes on overtime for professionals like police officers and firefighters, and increases the small business deduction to 23% so that job creators can invest in their employees and grow their operations in rural communities.

For farmers, we reduced taxes, included provisions to help producers finance new equipment purchases, and increased reference prices for commodities like corn and soybeans. We also strengthened opportunity zones to drive investment into rural communities, deploy private capital on our Main Streets, and stimulate economic growth all while authorizing new immediate expensing for the construction of American factories and agricultural facilities. Along with President Trump, I worked specifically to secure additional relief for family farmers from the death tax, lower the cost of crop insurance for the next generation, and cut red tape so that our community banks can offer agricultural loans at lower rates.

President Trump’s “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” further restores integrity to the SNAP program by eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse, cutting down on egregious overpayments, and preventing illegal immigrants from using these taxpayer-funded benefits. These important reforms will ensure that American families in need – not illegal immigrants or fraudsters – can put food on the table.

On top of our “One, Big, Beautiful Bill,” President Trump’s decisive work to negotiate fair trade deals and hold foreign countries accountable to American farmers is great news for our economy. Agreements with Vietnam and the United Kingdom have already secured hundreds of millions of dollars of U.S. agricultural exports, and the recent trade announcement with China is an exciting prospect for greater market access for Iowa corn, soybeans, pork, and more. In a House Agriculture Committee hearing the other day, Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins also noted that she has upcoming trips to Vietnam, Japan, India, Peru, and Brazil to discuss more trade opportunities for American agriculture. 

From securing new trade deals to supporting farmers in his “One, Big, Beautiful Bill,” President Trump has delivered on every promise that he made to America’s heartland. He is spearheading an economic revival in Rural America through manufacturing and agricultural dominance and massive tax cuts for farmers and small businesses. Under the Trump administration, rural communities are not left behind or forgotten; they are empowered, prioritized, and supported.
