House to Address Drug Trafficking on Federal Lands

WASHINGTON–Next week, the House of Representatives will consider the Conservation and Economic Growth Act, a package of 14 Natural Resources Committee bills. Among the bills included in the package is the National Security and Federal Lands Protection Act [H.R. 1505], sponsored by National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands Subcommittee Chairman Rob Bishop (UT-01).

Gardner asks Ag Secretary to issue drought declaration for Colorado counties

COLO. – Congressman Cory Gardner (R-CO) is asking U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack to issue a drought declaration for affected counties in Colorado. Current conditions mirror those of 2002 – the year the Hayman Fire devastated hundreds of thousands of acres of forests, and a year that cost Colorado farmers and ranchers millions of dollars in crop and livestock losses.

Smith: Nebraska Delegation Writes EPA Regarding Aerial Surveillance Program

WASHINGTON – The Nebraska Congressional delegation today sent a letter to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lisa Jackson again requesting a written response to questions concerning EPA’s use of aerial surveillance. The delegation first wrote Jackson on May 29th requesting information on the flyovers, but EPA has not responded.
