Washington, D.C. (January 29, 2015) – Today, the U.S. Senate passed the Keystone XL Pipeline with a bi-partisan vote of 62-36.  After reconciling the amended legislation with the House version or House passage of the amended bill, it will move to the President’s desk.  In response, Western Caucus Chairman Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) issued the following statement:

“I applaud the U.S. Senate’s passage of the Keystone XL Pipeline.  With the new majority in the Senate we are finally able to get work done for the American people and this bill is a great start by offering job creation, energy security, and a beneficial economic ripple effect throughout the country.  The President has been riding the fence on this issue for as long as he’s been in office.  It is my hope he will sign the bi-partisan legislation, and get construction on this pipeline started.”
