WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Chairman Dan Newhouse (WA-04) released the following statement calling on President Biden to rescind the nomination of Ms. Tracy Stone-Manning to be Director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM):
“Tracy Stone-Manning’s nomination must be rescinded. The Bureau of Land Management has an enormous impact on the lives and livelihoods of people throughout the West, and Ms. Stone-Manning is a dangerous person to lead this agency. With her ties to ecoterrorism and blatant disregard for the lives of rural Americans, her nomination sends a distressing signal to the rural communities that the Biden Administration is more interested in appeasing the far-left than the well-being of their families and businesses. With over 99% of BLM lands west of the Mississippi River, we deserve a Director who understands and appreciates the complex nature of public land management and the priorities of Western communities. That person is not Tracy Stone-Manning, and President Biden must pull back her nomination immediately.” |
