Congressional Western Caucus Chairman Dan Newhouse (WA-04) and Senate Western Caucus Chair Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) released the following statements commemorating the 30th Anniversary of the founding of the Congressional Western Caucus.
“It’s an honor to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Congressional Western Caucus," said Chairman Newhouse. "What started 30 years ago as a handful of members from the West has grown into a group of over 100 members stretching across our country who are committed to defending the western and rural way of life. Rest assured, we will work every day advocating for the multiple-use mandate, expanding American energy production, and local control so farmers, ranchers, and landowners can continue to be stewards of their land. We will continue to ensure that the voice of rural America is heard in the halls of Congress for years to come. I want to thank all the Members over the years who have been a part of the Western Caucus who have continued the important and critical work of our organization’s founders.” “Congratulations to the Western Caucus for serving as the leading advocate for the west and rural America in Congress for the last 30 years,” said Chair Lummis. “The people, culture and geography of the west are unique and require special attention instead of a one-size fits all approach from Washington. The Western Caucus has taken on the most important issues facing the west from public land management to energy production, and I am honored to be carrying on the legacy of fighting for the west.” ### |
