Lamborn Says 5 Years is Too Long to Wait for Keystone Pipeline

Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05) issued the following statement on the 5th Anniversary of the first application to begin construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline:

“If President Obama had approved the Keystone Pipeline project when it first came to his desk, we would now be well on our way toward creating 20,000 direct jobs and 100,000 indirect jobs for Americans. With millions of Americans still out of work, or working part-time jobs, this delay is especially crushing.

“Americans have now lived with gasoline prices around $3 per gallon for more than 1,000 days.  New Census Bureau data shows that poverty and food stamp dependence remain at record levels.

“I urge the President to side with struggling American families over extreme environmentalists and to approve the Keystone Pipeline.”– Doug Lamborn (CO-05)
