Washington, D.C.– Congressional Western Caucus Chairman Steve Pearce (R-NM) released the following statement in response to the December jobs report:
Congressional Western Caucus Chairman Steve Pearce (R-NM) released the following statement in response to the December jobs report: “While I am happy to see that more jobs were added in December, there is a lot more that can be done to put the millions of unemployed Americans back to work. The Obama Administration continues its war on western jobs while ignoring concrete ideas proposed by westerners to bring more jobs back to the West. Through endless regulations and delayed decisions that would create immediate jobs, the Administration is crippling the ability of job creators throughout the West. This includes the delayed decision of the Keystone XL pipeline which is a glaring example of the Administration’s failure to act to create immediate jobs. The Western Caucus has offered dozens of specific job creating proposals which have been ignored by the Administration and the Senate. Unemployed Americans deserve better.” The Jobs Frontier report includes over 40 bills that would create over 3 million jobs with little or no cost to taxpayers. Of the 32 bills introduced in the House, 9 have passed with bipartisan support and 12 more have either had a hearing or committee mark-up. |
