Today, Congressional Western Caucus Chairman Dan Newhouse (WA-04) released the following statement in response to reports that a supplemental spending deal would not include economic assistance for farmers or address California’s Proposition 12.
 
“At a time when the American agriculture industry needs our support, Congress has let them down,” said Chairman Newhouse. “This failure to help our farmers and ranchers is unacceptable. Senator Stabenow and Senate Democrats should have come to the table earlier and acted in good faith, rather than kicking the can down the road yet again. Democrats control the Senate and White House, yet blame House Republicans for their own failure. It’s unacceptable.”
